One of my favorite things to talk about, because we get to combine expansion with conversion and trust building. So are you ready to rock your social media game and build a killer marketing plan?
Who are you trying to reach? What are their interests? Which platforms are they hanging out on? You need to get to know your audience so you can create content that resonates with them. No one wants to see boring, generic posts that could be about anything or anyone. Be specific, be engaging, be true to you. If you don’t know who your ideal client is – then you’re not going to book them. You can’t build content or strategy if you don’t know who you’re even talking to!
What do you want to achieve with your social media marketing? Do you want to increase brand awareness, drive traffic to your website, or generate leads? Whatever your goal is, make sure it’s specific and measurable. You can’t hit a target that you can’t see, right? Some businesses need to make thousands of sales a year, some only need to sign 12 clients. Everyone has a different need – which means there’s no one-size-fits-all solution to social media marketing. Think about your own business, your own goals, and what you’ll need to focus on to reach them.
Next up, platforms. There are a ton of social media platforms out there, but not all of them are right for your business. You need to do your research and figure out which platforms your audience is using the most. Don’t spread yourself too thin by trying to be everywhere at once. Choose a few platforms that make the most sense for your business and focus your efforts there.
Your content strategy should be creative, engaging, and shareable. Don’t be afraid to think outside the box and try new things. Mix it up with different types of content like images, videos, and blog posts. And for the love of all things social, be consistent! You can’t post once a month and expect to build a following. Schedule your posts and make sure you’re showing up on a regular basis – and don’t be afraid to repurpose content if you need.
You need to track your performance metrics to see what’s working and what’s not. Use data to adjust your strategy and optimize your results. And don’t forget to engage with your audience! Social media is a two-way conversation, so make sure you’re responding to comments and messages promptly and building relationships with your followers.
Social media is constantly changing, so you need to stay up to date with the latest trends and best practices. Keep experimenting, keep learning, and keep growing your social media presence. Be okay with experimenting, you’ll never know what will work / fail if you don’t try new things!
