In today’s episode of That’s My Personal Business – We’re talking about the power of stillness. Taking that break in Hawaii and being still with myself for a month was one of the most powerful things I’ve ever done for my business. I came home from Hawaii with a business so different from when I left.

As business owners, we have worked so hard to get our baby off the ground and make it something beautiful. It is our heart and soul.
It’s so natural for us to make it our life and just keep going- staying up late, trying new tactics, etc. I could work forever and never take a break, there’s always more to do. I’m sure you can relate. BUT.. the power of stillness is two fold. First, we recharge. Second, we can actually listen.
So let’s start with the first.. There’s no reason to prioritize your business over your mental health because there is no deadline. Everything in our business is the long game. We need to take time to step away from our businesses and refuel ourselves.
The point of taking a break is so that we can refuel and be whoever we are outside of work- work does not have to be our whole identity. When we take care of ourselves, we take care of our businesses better.
When we are run-down, we make run-down level decisions and run-down level moves. We are not functioning at 100%.
And second.. Something MAGICAL happens when we sit in stillness. We give the universe opportunities to ping us. Because we’re not constantly focused on our to-do list, we can listen to our intuition, the Universe, to God, as they guide us to the next step.
Do not undervalue how powerful it is for you to be at your most powerful.
Think of resting as an investment in your business, schedule it into your work calendar and treat yourself to two hours off because you deserve it.
If I get an hour of sleep the night before going to the gym- my workout will suffer. I’ll get it done but my form will be bad and I will feel awful. Same thing with our business- if we are going into it exhausted, it will not go well. If I get 8 hours of sleep and I do my stretches and I get really intentional- I’m going to rock that workout! It’s the same thing with our business.
You cannot run the best business possible if you’re barely hanging on. Prioritize taking care of yourself.
And let’s make one thing clear.. It comes and goes. There are times to work and times to rest- it’s not constant rest. Take it in ebbs and flows. Be willing to put in the work when it’s time, and be willing to rest when you need it.
Come listen in to this weeks episode about the power of stillness to hear more on our breakthroughs, plans, and lessons. See you in there! xx
