Whether you’re a wedding vendor, a photographer, a website designer, a brand agency, whatever it is: everyone has an ideal client. It’s incredibly important that you become aware of your ideal client as soon as possible, so you can start working on attracting them!
On this episode of That’s My Personal Business, we’re diving into all things ideal client. But if you can’t listen right now? Read more below!
One. Define your ideal client:
Before you start looking for clients, you need to know who you want to work with. Identify the characteristics of your ideal client, such as their age, interests, what they care about, and what they need to see online. If you don’t know who it is you’re trying to book, how are you going to book them?
Two. Build a strong portfolio:
Your portfolio is your best marketing tool, so make sure it showcases your best work. Display your images on your website and social media accounts, and highlight your unique style. If there is work that you feel was not ideal or representative of your ideal client – scrap it. What you share? Is what you’re going to book more of! Make sure you’re not marketing anything you’re not obsessed with.
Three. Establish your brand:
Develop a brand that reflects your personality and style, and that resonates with your ideal client. Use consistent branding across all your marketing materials, such as your website and social media profiles. Branding is so much more than just aesthetics (even though those are important). Make sure that you are identifying what sets you apart from the competition aesthetically, emotionally, and with your client experience. These are all SUCH important aspects of your brand.
Four. Network with other vendors:
Building relationships with wedding planners, venues, florists, and other vendors in the wedding industry can help you get referrals and build your reputation! If they are vendors who you love and adore, they are vendors your ideal client is likely hiring. Build relationships in which they would want to refer you just as much as you want to refer them!
Five. Market yourself:
Use social media, advertising, and other marketing channels to reach your ideal client. Focus on the platforms that your ideal client uses and create content that appeals to them! Remember, we don’t want to market things we don’t want to book. Get in the mindset of your ideal client and only share work that they want to see – and you want to create! (You can grab our Pinterest Possibilities free masterclass if you want to take advantage of this incredible marketing tool!)
Six. Provide excellent customer service:
From the initial inquiry to the final delivery of your images, make sure you provide exceptional customer service. Respond to inquiries promptly, communicate clearly, and go above and beyond to exceed your client’s expectations. And don’t forget – EVERYONE is an ideal client. Make sure you act accordingly!
