Jessica Hawks is a virtual assistant turned online business coach/virtual assistant coach. She started out her business right as the Pandemic hit in March 2020, and since then has been expanding rapidly to a multiple six figure empire.
Over the last year she’s been building her team, expanding a lot and experienced rapid growth in her business and on Tiktok. I’ve never seen a business explode as intensely and rapidly as Jessica’s, so I KNEW we just had to have her on the podcast.
In this episode she talks about how being relatable and creating connection on Tiktok opens a whole new world for marketing your business. It’s the platform that people are relating to and are buying from so it’s important to use it- even when it feels overwhelming and scary.
Jessica shares about how being a business owner involves doing a lot of small scary things- it’s overcoming small fears over and over again (like showing up on a new platform like Tiktok). Then we dive into how Jessica enjoys being creative in different aspects of her business. Including how she finds so much joy in continually growing in her talents + skills.
Jessica also opens up the importance of outsourcing, even though it’s difficult to do, not every business owner is able to do it ALL on their own. She’s experienced a lot of personal growth in figuring out her own time management and what works best for her, and in saying yes to herself more often to spend time with friends and family and going on trips. Um, helloooo! A topic we all need more of.
One of my favorite nuggets Jessica shared was about balancing the fear of “hustle culture” with actually enjoying our job. She shares about how if our jobs ARE our hobbies, it’s okay if we want to work more often! We should be prioritizing the things that bring us joy, and if our business is one of them? Even better.
